Wisconsin-Green Bay Crushes Minnesota-Duluth 75-36
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin-Green Bay reeled off the first 11 points of the game en route to a 75-36 season-opening victory over Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday.
Riley Walker ended the drought for the Division II Bulldogs by scoring with 14:48 to go in the first half.
Preseason All-Horizon League first-teamer Rahmon Fletcher led all scorers with 16 points in helping make Brian Wardle's debut as the Phoenix's coach successful. Wardle is the sixth coach in school history.
Bryquis Perine scored 11 for Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Jarvis Williams added 10. Troy Snyder grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
Jake Hottenstine led Minnesota-Duluth with nine points.
Green Bay shot 4 of 14 on 3-pointers while shutting out Minnesota-Duluth, which went 0-for-10.
The Phoenix stretched its all-time record to 5-0 against the Bulldogs.
