We're Slow To Stock Up On Winter Supplies
By Steve Murphy, NewsRadio 830 WCCO
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It looks like Twin Cities residents are waiting to buy their winter supplies and the recent spring-like weather is the blame.
Chuck Albrecht, president of Northern Tool & Equipment, said shoppers just haven't been in the mood to buy cold weather items.
"Log splitters and chain saws and heaters -- even some of the winter apparel that you would normally see already selling again -- some of that's been a lot slower", he said.
Albrecht said heater sales have started picking up in recent days, but snow shovels and snowblowers are still sitting in the aisles, waiting for that burst of shoppers after the first snowfall comes.
Northern Tool & Equipment is based in the Twin Cities and has a half dozen stores in the metro area.
