Walker Kicks Off 75th Birthday Celebration

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis is getting ready to celebrate its 75th birthday, and the public is invited.

The Walker will have extended hours and free gallery admission this Thursday through Sunday.

Visitors will get their first look at the new exhibit, "Art at the Center: 75 Years of Walker Collections."

Free films will be shown, and you can put yourself in Walker history by snapping your photo at the Selfie Station.

Local craft beers will be featured along with live music and DJs at the Walker's beer garden.

The Walker will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
