Vikings' Ponder Impatient With The Ups And Downs
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Christian Ponder has been enduring the typical ups and downs of being a rookie quarterback in the NFL.
Ponder is having trouble staying patient with the downs.
Despite setting Minnesota's single-game rookie passing record with 381 yards on Sunday, Ponder was glum after the game. His three turnovers cost the Vikings 13 points in a 35-32 loss to Denver.
Ponder has shown plenty of poise and decisiveness over six games as a starter, but he has made the predictable rookie mistakes of throwing passes into the wrong places that have cost him and his team.
The Vikings play at Detroit this weekend.
