MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said there were no injuries in a building collapse just south of the Twin Cities metro late Friday night.
Fire crews were called to a vacant building on the 100 block of First Street East at about 11:30 p.m. Friday in Jordan on a report of a collapse. Fire officials said there was no explosion or fire, and they are trying to determine what caused the collapse.
Jordan Fire Chief Steve Kochlin said the building collapse shot bricks across the street, but there was no damage to any nearby property. Gas crews spent the night clawing at frozen ground to access a valve to shut off gas to the structure.
Authorities said the cause of the collapse is under investigation.
