But if you avert your eyes and focus instead on the new video board in right, you get a much different perspective. Instead of baseball stats, the new board gives you fun facts.
You learn that Delmon Young collected skateboards as a child, and that his father is a commercial pilot.
Joe Mauer, it says, loves Bugs Bunny and The Simpsons.
Personally, I'll be looking for bigger numbers in left as the season goes on, and the players emerge from their early slumps.
But in the meantime, we can enjoy the fact that Michael Cuddyer's hidden talent is that he knows all the Wiggles songs.
