Twins Activate P Deduno To Face Tigers
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – In need of a good starting pitching performance, the Minnesota Twins have made a call to AAA Rochester as they face the Tigers Friday night.
The Twins announced Friday afternoon they've called up pitcher Sam Deduno for their game against the Tigers. To make room for Deduno on the 25-man roster, the Twins placed pitcher Tim Wood on the 60-day disabled list.
Deduno made spot starts on the mound for the Twins last season and emerged as a starting pitcher early this year during the World Baseball Classic.
Immediately after the Twins' 8-3 loss to the Braves on Thursday, their opening day starter Vance Worley was sent down to AAA Rochester.
