St. Paul Car Salesman Beaten, Robbed
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- Police are hoping surveillance video helps them catch two men who attacked and robbed the owner of a car dealership in St. Paul Tuesday.
In his more than 20 years as a car salesman, owner Keith Schweiger has never had a sale like Tuesday and he has the proof to show it.
"Traumatic deal," said Keith, obviously bumped and bruised. "First time robbed while owning this property."
According to Keith, two men stopped into Brothers Auto Sales asked about trading in a vehicle -- a car that happened to be parked two blocks away.
"It didn't make sense why they didn't trade on lot, but I didn't think anything was going to happen," said Schweiger.
Schweiger's son, Kevin, agreed that the men didn't seem threatening.
"They seemed friendly -- shook his hand, the mechanics hand, went to look at cars," said Kevin.
However, when Keith and the men walked to the car they said they wanted to trade in, they attacked him in a secluded alleyway. He says they stole his Rolex and $5,000.
"I want these guys caught," said Keith. "I don't want them thinking they can get away with doing this."
Keith is offering his own reward of a $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
