Minnesota Weather: Next Round Of Snow To Hit The Twin Cities Overnight
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The snow just keeps coming.
On the heels of a Sunday storm that dumped around 6 inches of fresh snow on the Twin Cities, another round of snow is tracking toward the metro late Monday night.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for counties in the Twin Cities metro and along the Interstate 35 corridor, spanning from late Monday night to Tuesday afternoon. Counties in southeastern Minnesota are under a winter storm warning.
6am - Here is the current configuration of Winter Storm Warnings and Watches. I-35 corridor remains in a watch as a continued shift east in axis of heaviest snowfall leads to greater uncertainty in whether or not this area will see 6 or more inches of snow. #mnwx #wiwx pic.twitter.com/EXmA4Iat6d

Meteorologist Matt Brickman says snow totals in the Twin Cities are expected to be around 2 to 4 inches, with possibly more stacking up in the south metro. Expect the Tuesday morning commute to be slow and messy.
Snow totals will be higher in southeastern Minnesota, with some communities along the Wisconsin border possibly seeing more than 10 inches of snow accumulate.
With 5.9" of snow today this is now the 10th snowiest February on record in the Twin Cities. 16.3" and we're only 10 days in.
We'll (at minimum) be in the top 5 by then end of the week. https://t.co/RgqKdL14pX

The coming snow is the latest in a string of winter storms to hit Minnesota this month. Although the month began less than two weeks ago, this February is already one of the snowiest on record for the Twin Cities.
By the end of the week, this February will likely be in the top 5 snowiest on record, as even more snow is expected for Thursday.
Is there a warm-up coming in the forecast? Not really. The coming weekend looks to be snow-free but chilly, with highs below average.
