Controversial Wisconsin Sheriff Speaks In Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A controversial sheriff from Wisconsin spoke in Minneapolis Saturday night.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is known for his very public support for President Donald Trump.
Clarke often writes on Twitter about issues involving law enforcement, the Second Amendment and the media.
He made national headlines at last year's Republican National Convention for this statement, one day after the ambush-style killings of three Baton Rouge police officers.
"Ladies and gentlemen I would like to make something very clear: Blue lives matter in America," he said.
Saturday night, Clarke spoke at The Mansion Uptown in Minneapolis for nearly an hour to the crowd of a few hundred people.
"What are we willing to do to take this November 8th victory and this movement that Donald Trump started and turn it into something?" Clarke said. "Because the left is not going to give up. I'm not suggesting we need a million conservative march on Washington."
The nonprofit RightWay Minnesota hosted the event, called the Celebration of Law and Order.
Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek also participated.
