Regal Entertainment Group To Begin Bag Checks At Theaters
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Be prepared to have your things checked the next time you head to the movies.
The theater chain Regal Entertainment Group has begun to check bags in response to shootings at theaters around the country.
The company said they realize this will inconvenience guests, but they said it will provide better security.
Regal operates close to 600 theaters around the country, including ones in Eagan and Brooklyn Center.
AMC Theatres, Cinemark and Carmike would not comment if they are making similar changes.
The move comes after a string of shootings at movie theaters in Tennessee, Louisiana and Colorado.
