Premium Gas Is A Waste Of Money, AAA Says
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- You can stop paying for premium gas -- AAA says it's a waste of money.
Some drivers like to treat their cars to the high-octane fuel thinking it boosts performance. Premium blends can cost around 50 cents a gallon more than regular, but AAA says that's money out the tailpipe.
In a national survey on gasoline use, they found Americans spent more than $2 billion on premium gas when they didn't need to.
AAA also found premium didn't increase horsepower or fuel economy.
