Police: Suspect On Bike Robs Woman In Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The public safety department at the University of St. Thomas issued an alert after a female alumnus had her phone stolen near the school's Minneapolis campus over the weekend.
Authorities say the incident happened at about 8 p.m. Saturday. The woman told police she was standing on the corner of 11th Street and Harmon Place, outside of the Harmon Place ramp, waiting for a cab when an unidentified suspect approached on a bicycle.
The suspect took the victim's phone as he was passing her and fled eastbound on 11th Street. The victim suffered a minor wrist injury as a result of the robbery, and the Minneapolis Police Department was notified of the incident.
Authorities say the suspect is described as a heavy set black male about 30 years old, about 6 feet tall and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, white undershirt, jeans and riding a dark-colored bicycle.
