Police: Fatal Shooting In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police say a man has died after a shooting in north Minneapolis Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, officers responded at 3:20 p.m. to the shooting on the 1000 block of Humboldt Avenue North. The 911 caller indicated that a person was shot and lying in the street.

There, emergency responders discovered the adult male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel determined that he was dead.

No one is in custody at this time. Preliminary information indicates that the public is not at risk, however.

Police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the tip line at 612-692-8477.

The victim's identity and exact cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
