PLYMOUTH, Minn. — A woman who survived a car crash is hoping to find the person who helped comfort her at the scene.

Rachel Simon says she remembers very little about Saturday's crash in Plymouth.

"The last thing I remember I heard a sound, and I didn't even have a chance to look up," Simon said.

She was somehow able to pull herself out of the mangled mess left behind.

"I kind of, you know, pulled myself up. I remember opening the door because the driver was unconscious. And the next thing I knew was this voice was telling me to open my eyes," she said.

Witnesses say Simon walked about 15 feet before collapsing, unconscious on the pavement.

"I heard her saying, you know, something to the effect of, 'Open your eyes, open your eyes, no you got to look at me,'" she said. "And I can remember struggling and trying to figure out what was going on, and she was like, 'No, don't close your eyes, look at me, look at me.' And when I finally could get my eyes open and realize oh my gosh, I was just in this accident."

That's when she started paying attention to the angel who was sent to help her.

"She was laying parallel on the ground, you know, right by my face talking to me, and she just kept encouraging me, you know, 'Just stay with me, stay with me, help is on the way,'" she said.

When she looks at pictures of the car she was in, Simon says she knows she escaped death. Now, she just wants to thank the woman who went above and beyond to help her.

"I kept thinking afterwards, you know, I was in so much pain and so much was going on, you know, she was probably out on a Saturday night enjoying her own life and here she is laying on the highway," she said. "She could have ruined her clothes, she could have kept driving, but she didn't. She stopped. She made a difference."

All Simon remembers about her guardian angel is she had darker skin, eyes, and hair.
