No Cause Yet For 16th Avenue Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Fire officials are investigating after a former home and storage building burned down on 16th Avenue in Minneapolis.

Fire Chief Cherie Penn said the building that burned is associated with Bavolak Electric, which is located at the same address of 1153 S.E. 16th Ave.

The fire began before midnight and was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene.

The building that was destroyed is a former home, now used for storage for the electric business and was unoccupied. The Bavolak Electric business was not damaged in the fire.

There is no word on what may have caused the fire.

Fire officials said it was difficult to fight the fire because the building was located on a dead end road, making it tough to access. Bitter cold temperatures also did not help.

No one was injured in the fire.
