Mpls. Police: Woman Fights Off Attacker With Umbrella
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A woman needed to fight off an attacker with an umbrella in south Minneapolis Saturday, according to police.
On Saturday at 5:40 p.m., the woman was walking in the area of 33rd Street and Colfax Avenue South when she noticed she was being followed by a man she didn't know.
The man then approached and pushed the woman to the ground, police said. The woman, believing he would continue to attack her, screamed at the man and fought him off with an umbrella. The man then fled the scene.
The suspect is described by police as a man between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet-tall with dirty blonde hair. He was also wearing a green hoodie.
The victim was not injured and nothing was stolen, police said.
