Movie Blog: Movies + Mpls. Parks = Summer
Last weekend, when the weather was just about perfect -- 80s, sunny and dry -- I was making my way back home and went past a house with a front porch. The owners had set up their giant LCD television on a stand on one end of the porch and were watching a movie from the other end.
Seriously, what says "summer" more delightfully than watching a movie in the warm dusk of a beautiful day?
The City of Minneapolis obviously agrees. They're kicking off their Movies in the Parks series next Monday with a "screening" of Game 7 in the 1987 World Series. (OK, I guess maybe there are some other things that say "summer" as nicely as nighttime movies.)
The "Lund's Classic Baseball Nights" mini-series aside, there are dozens and dozens (and dozens and dozens) of legitimate movies playing at a number of Minneapolis parks throughout the summer. Some of the movies they're playing include items in the following categories:
