Mother's Day Spending Expected To Hit $25B This Year

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Americans are expected to spend a record amount on Mother's Day this year.

The National Retail Federation predicts Mother's Day spending will hit $25 billion this year, up from $23.1 billion in 2018.

That averages out to $196 per shopper for mom.

The trend now is taking mom out for a special outing, or a gift card so she can go shopping.

Other popular gifts include flowers, greeting cards and jewelry.
