Humidity eases Thursday in Twin Cities as highs stay in the 80s

Much of Minnesota will stay warm and dry for the next several days thanks to an "omega block," defined by the National Weather Services as "an upper level weather pattern" that "resembles the shape of the Greek letter" of the same name.

The average high this time of year is in the low 70s, but Friday's high in the Twin Cities is pushing 90 degrees.

The state will stay dry, worsening drought conditions, but some minor shots of rain are possible between Friday and Sunday over western and southwestern Minnesota.

The metro's next best chance of rain holds off until late Wednesday.
