MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Rounds of thunderstorms are rumbling over Minnesota and Wisconsin Thursday evening. Here are the latest updates:
8:11 p.m.: Minneapolis has broken a daily record for rainfall.
7:16 p.m.: The most intense part of the storm system will soon cross the border into Wisconsin

After scattered storms washed over central Minnesota Thursday morning, Meteorologist Chris Shaffer says storms fired up again in the afternoon, creating a stronger front complete with heavy rain, small hail and strong winds.
With the storms moving out of Minnesota overnight, Friday will be cooler, with highs approaching 80 degrees.
Looking ahead to the Father's Day weekend, there'll be chances for storms and scattered showers both Saturday and Sunday.
