Minneapolis Police Investigate School Bus Stop Incident
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police are investigating a school bus stop incident that occurred Friday morning, according to a Minneapolis Public Schools official.
Deputy Chief of Schools Steve Fisk says the incident occurred at a bus stop with Dowling and Sanford students. He says a man unaffiliated with the schools drove up and asked students questions about which school they attend and how often they are at the bus stop.
Families of the students were notified by letter and phone message.
"I want to reassure you that the safety of our students is a top priority, and we have already confirmed with the Police Department that extra patrols will be added to the area," Fisk said in the voicemail. "Please help us highlight the importance of safety by taking a few minutes to remind your child not to listen to, talk to or approach strangers."
