Minneapolis fire crews rescue person from house fire, in serious condition at hosptial
A person is in serious condition after being rescued from a house fire on Thursday evening.
The Minneapolis Fire Department was called to West 36th Street and Garfield Avenue South around 4:30 p.m. When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke and fire showing from a window on the first floor.
Crews forced entry into the house, where they found a heavy fire in the basement. The fire burned a hole through the first floor. Crews also found an adult in a bedroom on the second floor. They were able to get the person out of the house, and they were then transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Fire crews also rescued a dog, but the dog died.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Minneapolis Fire Department.
