Man, 64, Found Dead In St. Paul House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead after a fire in St. Paul Saturday morning, according to the St. Paul Fire Department.

Neighbors saw smoke coming from a house on the 1400 block of Old Hudson Road at approximately 6 a.m.

Firefighters found a 64-year-old man in his living room chair. After attempting to rescue him, the firefighters discovered he was dead, the fire department said.

Neighbors told the fire department the man lived alone. The fire was fully extinguished.

The man's identity has not been released.

The fire department said the cause of death was smoke inhalation from smoking while on oxygen.
