Man, 27, Gets More Than 10 Years For Armed Robbery Spree
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 27-year-old St. Louis Park man was sentenced this week to more than 10 years in prison after being convicted in a string of armed robberies.
Tyrone Morris was given Monday the most severe sentence allowed under state guidelines, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office said. Judge Jay Quam sentenced Morris to 129 months behind bars, but not consecutive sentences.
In June, Morris pleaded guilty to three armed robberies and to being a felon in possession of a gun. The robberies happen in October and mid-December, with another man, Jerry Carroll, who also pleaded guilty.
During the robberies, which happened at convenience stores and a fast food restaurant, Morris held a gun to workers' heads and punched them in the face.
