Man, 21, Dead After Car Hits Tree In Maplewood
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 21-year-old man is dead after crashing into a tree in Maplewood early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Witnesses saw an SUV speeding south on Rice Street at about 2 a.m. The SUV began to swerve, and then crossed over the northbound lane before hitting a large tree near Roselawn Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle, Miguel Martinez of Roseville, was killed. He was the only person in the SUV.
Police say Martinez was not wearing a seat belt. The Ramsey County Medical Center is working to determine his cause of death.
