Warm, humid Sunday; chance for severe weather late Monday afternoon in central Minnesota

It will be warmer and more humid Sunday in Minnesota after early morning showers wrap up and sunshine moves in. Highs will be close to 80.

It will stay warm and humid on Monday, but it will be cloudier. A NEXT Weather Alert will be in effect, with thunderstorms popping later afternoon into evening around central Minnesota, including the Twin Cities.

There is an enhanced risk for severe weather. The greatest threat will be the possibility of large hail and some strong bursts of wind. The tornado threat is low but cannot be ruled out.

The rest of the week will be mild with more rain chances before a weekend cooldown.
