Driver ID'd In I-694 Arden Hills Fatal Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say a 59-year-old man from Spooner, Wis., died Tuesday afternoon in the north Twin Cities metro after his vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the victim as Bradford Evans. Authorities responded to the crash at about 12:43 p.m. Tuesday near the area of Interstate 694 and Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills.

When authorities arrived, they found that Evans was traveling eastbound on 694 in the right land when his vehicle left the road just east of Lexington Avenue. The car traveled about 400 feet down an embankment, appeared to accelerate and hit a tree.

Evans was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are still investigating what led to the car leaving the road. The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.
