Police: Man Hit By Car In Downtown Minneapolis Dies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a man hit by a car in downtown Minneapolis on Monday died Tuesday from his injuries.

The Minneapolis Police Department responded at about 4 p.m. to the area of Hawthorne Avenue and 11th Street North on a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found an adult male who had been hit by a car.

First responders provided care to the victim until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died on Tuesday.

The victim's name and his cause of death has not been released. The driver of the vehicle, an adult female, stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with police. A preliminary investigation shows that alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash.
