MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Researchers are at work predicting how coronavirus may spread in Minnesota. On Friday they released information about how they do their jobs in an effort to be more transparent.
Here are the latest updates in the COVID-19 pandemic on Saturday, April 11:
- 8 p.m.: The Cathedral of St. Paul is holding an online Easter mass.
- 6 p.m.: Wisconsin now has 3,213 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 950 hospitalizations and 137 deaths.
- 3 p.m.: Gardening centers around Minnesota are open again after Gov. Walz deemed them essential services.
- 1 p.m.: The Associated Press reports that crime rates have dropped around the world as COVID-19 keeps people indoors.
- 12:45 p.m.: The U.S. death toll has overtaken Italy's.
- 11 a.m.: Seven more people have died in Minnesota and 91 more patients tested positive for COVID-19, as of Saturday.
- 10:51 a.m.: Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith announced that the Department of Transportation has awarded Minnesota $306,702,378 for public transit infrastructure funding in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
- 10:30 a.m.: Gun advocates say there has been a record spike in gun sales in response to potential civil unrest that could be spurred by the global coronavirus pandemic.
