Charges: 2 Men Break Into Minneapolis Library

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 20-year-old Stillwater man is one of two accused of breaking into a Minneapolis library earlier this week, according to charges filed in Hennepin County Court Thursday.

Ronell Javon Lynch was charged with one felony count of second-degree burglary in connection with the incident.

According to a criminal complaint, officers were called to the Sumner Public Library on the 600 block of Van White Memorial Boulevard on a report of a burglary at about 6:57 p.m. Sunday. When authorities arrived, a witness reported hearing glass breaking and saw two men, one wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood and the other wearing a dark jacket near the building.

Officers spotted a broken window where the men appeared to get inside and searched the library, the complaint states. Officers outside the library could hear Lynch attempting to leave the scene and were able to arrest him without incident.

Police were also able to find the other suspect, Marcus DeAngelo McKinney, and he was taken into custody without incident.

If convicted, Lynch faces up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.
