Central Avenue Reopens In NE Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A main thoroughfare in Northeast Minneapolis has reopened after being closed for much of 2014.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced that Central Avenue reopened to traffic on Tuesday.
Crews closed the stretch between 14th and 18th Avenues to demolish and then rebuild the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Bridge over Central.
It was originally scheduled to reopen in autumn, but MnDOT said "construction challenges and obstacles" delayed the reopening.
