4 Things To Know: Bangladesh, Elie Wiesel & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Here's a look at the four things you need to know for Sunday, July 3, 2016.

Number One: Bangladesh Shooting

Three U.S. college students are among the 22 victims of a terror attack and hostage crisis in Bangladesh that started Friday night.

It happened over 11-hours inside a cafe.

Police said all of the attackers were local citizens. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Bangladesh government denies the group's role.

Number Two: Elie Wiesel Dies

Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel has died.

Wiesel shared his harrowing story of encampment at Auschwitz as a teenager through his classic memoir "Night."

He went on to write many other books, lecture worldwide and become a living reminder of the Nazis' atrocities.

Wiesel was 87.

Number Three: Hmong Freedom Celebration

Thousands of people will head to Como Park's McMurray Field to take in traditional food, shop at booths, and cheer on competitive sports.

Admission is $5.

Number Four: Katy Perry Reaches Twitter Milestone

Twitter says the singer has become the first person ever to have more than 90 million followers.

Justin Bieber has almost 84 million people following him, while Taylor Swift has 79 million.

When she learned about breaking the record, she tweeted "dang, this is tight."
