Authorities: Wisconsin Correctional Camp Escapee Arrested
RICE LAKE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say they've arrested a 20-year-old man who escaped from a correctional camp in west-central Wisconsin.
The Barron County Sheriff's Department said Sunday that Kaeden Dumholt was arrested Saturday morning in northwest Wisconsin after a report of a suspicious man south of Rice Lake. The department says a deputy recognized a man found in the area as Dumholt, who authorities say escaped from Black River Correctional Center earlier this month.
The sheriff's department says it later determined Dumholt was tied to a stolen vehicle from Eau Claire that crashed in the area where he was found.
Dumholt is also accused of taking part in a home invasion in Sawyer County days after his escape, and being involved a high-speed chase.
According to the sheriff's department, Dumholt was being held at Sawyer County Jail.
