EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Jared Allen is quietly having a career — and potentially record-setting — season for the Minnesota Vikings.

When Allen and the Vikings take on the rival Packers in Green Bay, the 29-year-old will resume his pursuit of Michael Strahan's single-season mark of 22.5 sacks. Halfway through, Allen has 12.5 sacks, a pace for 25.

DeMarcus Ware of the Dallas Cowboys is right behind Allen with 12 sacks. Because of that and Minnesota's 2-6 record, Allen's production hasn't received much national attention. But his teammates say they believe that will change if he continues to chase Strahan into the final few weeks of the season.

Allen says "anything's attainable" but insists the record is not his focus.
