3 Charged In Fatal St. Paul Shooting
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder for the May 4 shooting death of 24-year-old Trent Crumble.
Joshua Michael Bystrom was charged with unintentional second-degree murder in what police say was a drug deal gone bad.
Ronald Allen Gilgenbach, 22, was also charged in the crime for possession of a firearm and Javier Abdul Ahmed, 18, was charged for aiding an offender.
According to the charges, Gilgenbach and Crumble arranged to meet Ahmed to buy marijuana on the 600 block of Dale Street South. When they arrived, they found Ahmed in a car with Bystrom.
The criminal complaint states Crumble began arguing with Ahmed, at which point, Bystrom allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Crumble in the back. Bystrom and Ahmed fled the scene but were later arrested by St. Paul police.
When police arrived on the scene, around 9:30 p.m. on May 4, they found Crumble in a bar parking lot with a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died.
All three men charged are from St. Paul. They will make their first court appearances Monday.
