A man accused of pointing a gun at a woman and her daughter during a road rage encounter near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport bonded out of jail Friday night.

John William Morici, had nothing to say as he left the main jail in Fort Lauderdale. Morici turned himself in on Thursday.

On Friday, he appeared before a judge  on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

A judge set his bond at $15,000 per count — $30,000 total — and ordered Morici to have no contact with the victims, possess no firearms or ammunition, and not drive unless for work-related purposes.

Road rage suspect caught on video pulling gun on mother and daughter

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on April 29 near the 300 block of Terminal Drive, just outside the airport.

Investigators said the woman had just picked up her daughter from the terminal and was trying to merge lanes when the driver of a black Dodge Durango — later identified as Morici — sped up to block her.

After she slowed down and changed lanes, the Durango driver allegedly slammed on his brakes once she ended up behind him. The woman switched lanes again and began passing the SUV when her daughter started recording video on her cellphone.

The video, later released by BSO, showed Morici pointing a black handgun at the mother and daughter as they drove by. He appeared to quickly conceal the weapon after noticing the camera and drove off toward South Federal Highway.

"As you can imagine, this was a terrifying ordeal for the victim and her daughter," said BSO spokesperson Gerdy St. Louis. "No one expects to have a gun pointed at them while they're trying to switch lanes. This could've ended very badly."

The woman, who said she was a victim, declined to comment. A lawyer for the suspect said he's a good man and wouldn't comment further on the case.
