TARRANT COUNTY (CBS11) - A local group is picking up the tab for the men and women in Tarrant County who wear blue.

Chairman of the non-profit Tarrant County Blue, Greg Morse, also said they're on a mission to help the families of fallen officers.

"If an officer falls in the line of duty, every person has to donate $100 and 100 percent will go to the widow and their family," said Morse.

Morse said the group also does smaller gestures around the community. If they see someone from Tarrant County in law enforcement out to dinner or at the movies, they will anonymously pick up the tab.

Teresa Nava Salazar said her family was the first recipient of the non-profits donation.

Her late husband, Officer Hank Nava Jr, was killed in 2005 while serving a search warrant.

"It helps during that time when you don't know what to expect and don't know how you are going to make it," said Salazar.
