U.S. Capitol police believe the man traveled to the Washington, D.C. area, on Monday.
The case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit was brought by seven U.S. Capitol Police officers against former President Donald Trump and more than a dozen others.
Barnhart wrote an apology letter addressed to the officer, saying he was ashamed of his behavior on Jan. 6.
The former president is facing lawsuits filed by members of Congress and U.S. Capitol Police officers.
