Pat Caputo: NFL Got It Right By Serving Ndamukong Suh A Two-Game Dose Of Humble Pie

Ndamukong Suh got what he deserved for stomping on the arm of Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith.

The two-game suspension given to Suh Tuesday by the NFL was neither too harsh nor too lenient. It fit perfectly.

Precedent had been set in an instance like this in 2006 when Albert Haynesworth, a defensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans at the time, stomped on the head of Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Andre Gurode. Haynesworth received a five-game suspension, but his act was far more egregious. That game was on natural grass and Haynesworth was wearing longer, harder cleats for that playing surface. Gurode's helmet was removed and Haynesworth stomped on his head, requiring numerous stitches.
