Denver Surgeon Faces Unprofessional Conduct Charges
DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners has charged a Denver surgeon with 14 counts of unprofessional conduct after a series of failed procedures with a robotic surgery arm.
Over the past five years Dr. Warren Kortz allegedly had mishaps like cutting and tearing blood vessels, which subjected patients to overly long surgeries. He also allegedly left surgical instruments inside patients after closing them up.
He even had to abort kidney donations because of mistakes.
Kortz performed the surgeries at Porter Adventist Hospital.
Kortz' attorney so far has denied comment in the case.
