It happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of West 59th Place in the West Lawn neighborhood.
The silos date back to 1906 but were abandoned in 1977.
The city said the silos on Chicago's Southwest Side would be taken down little by little, with no use of explosives. Sabrina Franza reports.
