Cubs TV broadcaster Len Kasper reportedly is leaving the North Side to become the radio play-by-play voice of the White Sox.
Kyle Schwarber and Albert Almora Jr. became free agents Wednesday when the Chicago Cubs declined to offer contracts to two key players from their historic 2016 World Series championship.
Last week the Cubs announced Theo Epstein and the team parted ways. He helped the team win its first World Series title in more than 100 years.
"The historical significance of Wrigley Field is interwoven into our nation's story and a key part of what has become America's beloved pastime for over a century," Interior Secretary David Bernhardt said.
"I believe this is the right decision for me even if it's a difficult one."
Baseball fans love to argue over who should win big awards. But there likely was no debate about the most surprising name on the list of players getting NL MVP votes Thursday.
White Sox center fielder Luis Robert won a Gold Glove on Tuesday, the first rookie in team history to win that honor.
