Air travel and other government services, including SNAP benefits, are returning to normal following the end of the longest shutdown in U.S. history.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene speaks to "CBS Mornings" about the push to release the Epstein files. She was one of four Republicans that joined Democrats to secure a House vote on releasing all of the files and said "the government will not protect the predators." She added she believes President Trump "did nothing wrong." The president, who is mentioned in recently released emails between Epstein and others, has denied any wrongdoing.
A Trump administration housing official has referred Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California to the Justice Department over allegations involving mortgage fraud, according to sources. Swalwell, who served as an impeachment manager in President Trump's first term, has denied any wrongdoing.
Senior U.S. military officials have presented President Trump with options for potential military operations inside Venezuela, including strikes on land, sources tell CBS News. Charlie D'Agata reports.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said TSA officers who demonstrated "exemplary service" during the government shutdown will get $10,000 bonuses. President Trump also promised to give bonuses to air traffic controllers who stayed on the job. It's unclear how the administration decides who would receive bonuses and who would not.

House Democrats on Wednesday released emails from Jeffrey Epstein referencing President Trump, who has denied any knowledge of the convicted sex offender's crimes. In a 2019 email, Epstein said Mr. Trump "knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop." CBS News' Nancy Cordes has more.
The House will vote Wednesday on a spending bill that passed in the Senate earlier this week and could bring the longest government shutdown to an end. The legislation would extend funding for most agencies through late January, with some parts of the government funded for a full year. Democrats are largely expected to reject the measure, which does not include extending ACA subsidies.
Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, says he'll run in the Democratic primary to represent New York's 12th Congressional District that encompasses most of Manhattan. Longtime Rep. Jerry Nadler announced in September that he's stepping down after next year.
