"Three-parent IVF" leads to birth of 8 healthy babies without mitochondrial disease

According to “Nature,” eight children at risk of mitochondrial disease have been born healthy in the U.K. due to a groundbreaking procedure where doctors take the nucleus of a fertilized egg with faulty mitochondrial DNA and transfer it to a donor egg with healthy mitochondrial DNA.
