Drake Maye missed practice Friday with illness and shoulder injury, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel says
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye did not practice Friday due to an illness and his shoulder injury, head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters at Gillette Stadium Friday.
"He did not practice, no, it was illness and shoulder," Vrabel said, adding that he was not concerned.
"We've had a lot of guys over the last month or six weeks here with illness, so again, trying to do what's best for the player and the team and trying to take care of guys, don't spread anything. We've worked through that here for the past six weeks."
Maye was listed as limited at practice Thursday with a right shoulder injury. He told reporters he went through a normal practice. Maye has not missed a game this season.
This was Vrabel's last media availability at Gillette Stadium for this season. The Patriots practiced Friday and are off Saturday before traveling to Santa Clara on Sunday for the Super Bowl week. The Patriots will hold a send off rally Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the stadium. Vrabel and team captains are expected to address the crowd.
The Patriots will play the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Levi's Stadium, the home field of the San Francisco 49ers.
