Kristina Rex

Kristina Rex is a reporter and fill-in anchor for WBZ-TV News.

A Massachusetts native and a graduate of Phillips Academy and Boston College, Kristina is thrilled to be home, reporting for the station she grew up watching. She lives in her hometown of Andover with her husband, Dan, and daughter, Francesca.

She joined the station in August 2018 from Portland, Maine, where she worked as a general assignment reporter, investigative reporter, and fill-in anchor at WCSH. She started her career in New England as well, working as a morning reporter for WLBZ in Bangor, Maine.

Kristina is also a lawyer and member of the Massachusetts bar. She graduated summa cum laude from New England Law in 2025, as the valedictorian of her class of part-time students. She passed the Massachusetts bar exam in the summer of 2025 and was sworn in in November 2025.

Kristina has covered many high profile stories and criminal trials in her time at WBZ-TV, including two Karen Read trials in Norfolk County, the trial of Emanuel Lopes in Norfolk County, the trial of Adam Montgomery in New Hampshire, and the trial of Lindsay Clancy in Plymouth. Rex has been nominated for eight regional EMMY awards for her coverage at WBZ, and won the EMMY in 2025 for her reporting on a violence crisis inside Brockton Public Schools.

Covering the courts, crime, and corruption are important to Kristina, as she believes that an informed public is essential to a proper functioning society. In addition to her reporting on WBZ-TV, Kristina often posts court "recaps" from trials on her social media pages @KristinaRexTV.
