Water Main Break, Sinkhole Close Roads In Chelsea
CHELSEA (CBS) -- A large water main burst early Wednesday morning and closed Route 16 westbound in Chelsea.
The 16-inch water main broke around 3 a.m. on Garfield Avenue near the intersection with Sagamore Avenue, causing a sinkhole to open.
Route 16 was reopened shortly before 7 a.m., but some surrounding side streets were still closed.
Police are still asking motorists to avoid the area.
