Celtics Doc Rivers Visits New England Baptist Hospital

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers is not a real doctor, but he did his best to make some patients at New England Baptist Hospital feel better on Monday.

Rivers' visit to the hospital was to commemorate the 25 year partnership between New England Baptist and the Celtics. Throughout his visit, Doc posed for photos, signed autographs and sat down to talk with patients.

"It was a lot of fun walking around and visiting with patients and their families," said Rivers. "To be a part of this event, celebrating the 25th year partnership between the Celtics and New England Baptist, was a great experience."

"We are proud to continue our long and close relationship with the Celtics," New England Baptist Hospital president and CEO Trish Hannon said in a release. "The athletic prowess of the Celtics combined with the medical expertise of Baptist physicians is a winning combination. We're pleased to expand our work together and look forward to a healthy and championship season."

To celebrate the anniversary of the partnership, Rivers and Celtics President Rich Gotham presented the hospital with a Celtics "25" jersey.

In return, the hospital presented Doc with a white lab coat that he wore throughout his visit.

So even if he is not a real doctor, he can now look the part.
