Soaking rain in the forecast to kick off April in Massachusetts
More than a few folks in Massachusetts are looking at the weather forecast and asking the question, "where is spring?"
Here's a reminder that this is spring in New England. While the rest of the country is warming up and greening up, we are typically the last to the dance.
It's just part of the deal when you sign up to be a New Englander.
Rain storms in Boston to start April
Right on cue, there's one final NEXT Weather alert to close out the month of March.
We've got some soakers to ring in the month of April.
We will see a few scattered showers between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday, but the heaviest rain will occur between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., mainly across central and eastern Mass.
We expect about .5"-1.0" of rain in many areas, leading to some big puddles on the roadways as well as localized flooding.
Thankfully, the rain will be done by dawn, and the Tuesday morning commute will be quiet and dry.
Rainy pattern continues
The active pattern will continue through the rest of the week.
We expect a rainy day on Thursday and a final round of rain sometime over the weekend, likely by Saturday night and Sunday.
The weather looks fantastic for the Fenway opener on Friday afternoon. Temperatures will soar well into the 60s amid a mix of sun and clouds.
The late afternoon game on Saturday looks much cooler and cloudier.
We will have to wait and see on the timing of the rainfall to see whether Sunday's night game will be wet.
